New Hire Experience:
1% of the base hourly rate granted for each year of verified like experience (within ten years) beyond the requirement, up to a ten

Job Summary:
To assist the resource center specialist in the organization and maintenance of the media center to ensure the effective and efficient functioning of services.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist resource center specialist in the daily operation of the media center Assist students and teachers in the selection of materials Assist in circulation tasks (checking in/out of books and materials, etc) Perform general clerical tasks and repairs of books and materials Regular and on-time attendance required Perform other related duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient and effective functioning of the work unit Assists with other assigned duties as appropriate to the area of assignment and
Mesa Public Schools Required Qualifications:
Associate's Degree or 60 college credit hours required at time of hire OR pass the ParaPro Test provided by the district free of charge High School education or equivalent
Skills & Competencies:
Models the attributes and skills of the MPS Portrait of a Graduate. Demonstrates commitment to the MPS Promise that every student is known by name, served by strength and need, and graduates ready for college, career and community. Computer proficiency to include use of basic software applications (Word, Excel, etc) Ability to operate standard office equipment Ability to organize and prioritize workload while working with frequent interruptions and minimum supervision Ability to effectively communicate (verbal and written) with students, teachers, parents and district personnel
Work Environment & Physical Requirements:
Inside a school library or resource center, which may include classrooms or computer labs Frequent contact with students, teachers, and other school stuff Generally quiet, but may be louder during student visits or group activities Ability to move around the library frequently; walking and standing for extended periods Frequent reaching, bending, stooping, and kneeling to shelve or retrieve books May need to lift and carry boxes of books or supplies (typically up to 25-40 pounds)
