PEL Learning Castro Valley is looking for a Classroom Assistant/Center Member to be the first friendly face our students and families see when they walk through our doors. As the Classroom Assistant, you'll play a key role in ensuring our center runs smoothly by greeting families, supporting daily operations, and helping create an exceptional experience for every student. About PEL Learning PEL Learning is an individualized learning center dedicated to helping students develop strong academic foundations and become confident, independent learners. We believe every child can succeed with the right support, encouragement, and learning environment. What You'll Do Welcome students and families with a warm, professional attitude. Check students in and collect homework upon arrival Keep the front desk and reception area clean, organized, and inviting. Support grading students' class work when needed Prepare learning materials and assist instructors with administrative tasks. Monitor the center to ensure students transition smoothly between activities. Help with Math and English questions when needed (middle school math and under.) Support center managers with daily operations and special projects as needed.

Friendly, professional, and enjoys interacting with families. Comfortable with Middle School Math (Long division, Fraction) Reliable, punctual, and takes pride in following through on responsibilities. Organized with strong attention to detail. Able to multitask and remain calm in a fast-paced environment. A proactive team player with a positive attitude.

Availability Required:

Please make sure you are available to work inperson for BOTH days.

Wednesdays:

3:00 PM - 7:00

PM Saturdays:

10:00 AM - 1:00 PM Minimum commitment of 7 hours per week. Additional hours (up to 10-12 hours per week) may be available at another nearby PEL Learning location for candidates seeking a larger schedule. Preferred Qualifications Customer service, receptionist, or administrative experience. Experience working with children or in an educational setting. College students or graduates interested in education, child development, psychology, business, or communications are encouraged to apply.
