Student Services and Job Placement Coordinator Angeles College - City of Industry City of Industry, CA Job Details Full-time $22 - $25 an hour 1 hour ago Qualifications Customer service Research High school diploma or GED Attention to detail Organizational skills University experience Full Job Description About the Position We are seeking a motivated, organized, and student-focused Student Services & Job Placement Coordinator to join our team. This position plays an important role in supporting students from enrollment through graduation and into employment. The ideal candidate is an effective communicator who enjoys working directly with students and graduates, is comfortable conducting employer outreach, and can maintain accurate documentation in a regulated private postsecondary education environment. Key ResponsibilitiesStudent Services Serve as a primary point of contact for students regarding student services, school policies, attendance, academic progress, and available resources. Build positive relationships with students and provide ongoing support throughout their educational experience. Monitor student attendance and academic progress and follow up with students who may be at risk of falling behind or withdrawing. Conduct student advising and follow-up regarding attendance, academic progress, professionalism, and completion requirements. Coordinate with instructors, Education, Financial Aid, Admissions, and campus leadership to address student concerns. Assist with student orientation, graduation activities, workshops, and other campus events. Support applicable leave of absence, withdrawal, re-entry, and graduation processes. Maintain accurate and confidential student-services records, contact notes, and supporting documentation. Career Services & Job Placement Provide career and job-placement assistance to students and graduates. Assist students and graduates with résumé preparation, interviewing techniques, job-search strategies, professional communication, and workplace readiness. Meet with students prior to graduation to discuss employment goals and develop individualized job-search plans. Maintain regular follow-up with graduates who are actively seeking employment. Research and identify employment opportunities related to the school's programs. Provide qualified students and graduates with appropriate job leads and employment resources. Track graduate employment outcomes and maintain accurate placement records. Employer Relations Develop and maintain professional relationships with employers and community partners. Conduct ongoing employer outreach to identify employment opportunities for students and graduates. Communicate with employers regarding available candidates and hiring needs. Coordinate interviews, recruiting activities, career fairs, employer presentations, and other employment-related events as appropriate. Obtain feedback from employers regarding graduate performance and workforce needs. Help expand and maintain the school's employer network. Documentation & Compliance Maintain accurate documentation of student and graduate outreach, career-services activities, and employment outcomes. Verify graduate employment information and collect supporting documentation as required by institutional policies and applicable regulatory or accreditation requirements. Assist with tracking and reporting student retention, graduation, and placement information. Maintain organized, complete, accurate, and audit-ready records. Protect the confidentiality of student and graduate information and follow applicable school policies and procedures. Assist campus leadership with reports and documentation related to student services and graduate employment outcomes. Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree preferred. Previous experience in student services, career services, job placement, recruiting, education, or a related field preferred. Experience in a private postsecondary, vocational, career college, or higher-education environment is highly desirable. Strong verbal and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal and customer-service skills. Comfortable communicating with students, graduates, employers, instructors, and staff. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Comfortable making outbound calls and conducting consistent student, graduate, and employer follow-up. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and/or student information systems. Ability to maintain confidential information and accurate documentation. Bilingual skills are a plus.
