Job Description
Position Overview:
The Finance and Development Associate is an individual with strong computer skills, strong organization skills, a customer service approach, stellar telephone manner, and interpersonal skills. This person will interact with Synagogue staff and externally with constituents including congregants, Board members, donors, and volunteers. Under the direction of the Director of Finance, the Finance and Development Associate duties concerning membership financials, database management, grant management, donor relations, stewardship activities, and administrative assistance, including generating reports and mailings, updating the ShulCloud database, database management and generating acknowledgment letters.Primary Responsibilities:
The responsibilities of this position intersect through the financial responsibilities but not limited to the following: Database and spreadsheet management Deposit all checks through remote scanner Enter checks into ShulCloud with accuracy, reconciling to the bank deposit amount Follow up on emails and phone calls for membership matters Review daily reports to review payments in ShulCloud With Support from Finance Director, email or call members to set up payment plans Support monthly reconciliation process for capital and operating expenses Support report building for finance Manage gift processing and prepare thank-you letters to donors using Google docs ShulCloud Manage the tribute process, including: processing gifts, donor acknowledgements, recipient notifications Manage gift agreements including campaign pledges, acknowledgements and payment reminders Generate campaign reports Generate monthly, annual pledge reminders Support donor/prospect mailings Produce weekly, monthly and year-end fundraising reports, including monthly board reports Assist with and may attend fundraising and stewardship events (as necessary) Assist with answering the phones and support of the office team Religious School Enrollment & Systems Management Manage registration, maintain records, communicate with parents, distribute class information to teachers, and maintain the central database Process tuition payments and scholarships Maintain synchronized Google Sheets workflows to keep student data consistent across platforms Hebrew Program Coordination Coordinate master schedules for weekly Hebrew sessions across families and teachers Partner with leadership, admin, and teachers to manage b mitzvah scheduling and maintain up-to-date staff tracking Other duties as assigned by the Finance Director and Director of Development as needed such as grant reports, budgets and management of development files. Other duties may be assigned as necessary such as supporting the Youth Programs administratively or the office staff with phones. Retreats will be paid for separately if you choose to attend as a staff member.Professional Conduct:

Work will be performed in an office, education, and religious environment. The physical arrangement of the office may require the position to work in an open environment within close proximity to other colleagues. Workspace must be organized and reflect efficiency.
