PrintMIDDLE SCHOOL PRINCIPAL DEFINITION
Under general direction of the Superintendent, is responsible for the administration and coordination of a Middle School. SUMMARY Directs and coordinates educational, administrative, and counseling activities of a middle school by performing the following duties personally or through co-administrators.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Other duties may be assigned. ~Provides strong leadership in the areas of : curriculum and instruction, budget administration, community relations, employee relations, student activities, and student discipline; ~Promotes effective instruction through the monitoring and assissment of programs and personnel; ~Understands appropriate placement of students; ~Monitors and assisses the total educational program; ~Plans, supervises and directs the business operation of the school; ~Maintains high morale among students, staff and parents; ~Facilitates communication with students, staff, parents and District Office staff; ~Values a high level of employee performance; ~Provides leadership in the effective use of school resources;and ~Understands the relationship of technology and curriculumDESIRABLE QUALITIES

Valid California Administrative CredentialEDUCATION
Master's Degree, or higher, from an accredited college or university.EXPERIENCE A
minimum of three years successful teaching experience Administrative experience in middle school; Experience in the area of middle school curriculum; Demonstrate skill in participative management, shared decision-making and school and program planning. Experience with English language development students in a multi-cultural community desirable. Bilingual skills preferred.Requirements / Qualifications
