General Description:
The Office of TRIO Programs brings together the TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) traditional and English as a Second Language programs to provide academic support and a sense of community to students who are

participants. This position will provide administrative and programmatic support to the office as a whole as well as to each individual program. This is a great opportunity to learn new skills including some general advising, student tracking data, time management, effective communication (verbal and electronic), leadership and more.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Outreach to current Trio students as identified by Trio Advisors Conduct follow-up meetings with students we have not seen in a while on a more regular basis, monthly. Updating student records as needed. Help identify and outreach to high need students.
Assists in recruitment:
By sending email and conducting phone calls to eligible students. Provide staffing at regular tabling events like open houses. Following recruitment plan set my Trio Programs.
Front desk duties:
Assist with answering emails and phone calls in a timely manner. Greets and directs all visitors to appropriate offices or resources. Schedules appointments for advisors using Microsoft Outlook and/or Navigate. Ensures completion of paperwork and sign-in procedures. Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the bulletin boards, front lounge areas, helping with event set up, tear down, and clean up. Trio Programs and Events Serve as a student leader amongst TRIO programs, providing advice and support. Provides basic program support through administrative projects as assigned. Creates and designs flyers, brochures, posters, event calendars and more. Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Student must be awarded work study hours by the Financial Aid Office. Minimum 2.0 grade point average (GPA). Preference for current TRIO SSS or
TRIO SSS-ESL
participants. Be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours at CCA. Excellent customer service skills and a desire to grow professionally. Intermediate computer skills including familiarity with Microsoft software, the internet, and general computer trouble shooting. Ability to place and receive phone calls on a regular basis and respond to emails. Capable of working independently in a constantly changing environment. Work-Study Eligibility Requirements This position is available exclusively to CCA students who are eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study program. Work-Study Eligibility Requirements:
Must have a completed FAFSA on file Must be enrolled in a minimum of six (6) credit hours Must not have already earned a first bachelor's degree Must be pursuing an eligible program of study
Selection Process:
All submitted applications will undergo an initial review to verify work-study eligibility. Applicants who meet the eligibility requirements will have their applications forwarded to the hiring manager for consideration. The hiring manager will contact selected candidates to schedule an interview. Applicants who do not meet work-study eligibility requirements will not be advanced in the selection process. Questions regarding work-study eligibility should be directed to the Financial Aid Office.
