Job Description

Job Summary Crossroad Academy Charter School is seeking a dynamic, student-centered, and instructional-focused educational leader to serve as Principal. The Principal is responsible for providing visionary leadership and daily oversight of all school operations while fostering a safe, positive, and academically rigorous learning environment for students and staff. The ideal candidate will possess strong instructional leadership skills, the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and staff, and a commitment to data-driven decision-making that supports student achievement and school improvement. The Principal will lead school culture, supervise personnel, manage operations, support compliance requirements, and ensure alignment with the mission and goals of Crossroad Academy Charter School. Essential Responsibilities Instructional Leadership Lead and support high-quality instruction aligned to Florida standards and state assessments. Monitor student achievement data and implement strategies to improve academic performance. Conduct classroom walkthroughs, observations, and evaluations to support teacher growth and accountability. Facilitate professional development and instructional coaching for faculty and staff. Support MTSS, intervention programs, and student support services. School Culture & Climate Foster a positive school culture focused on student achievement, safety, and character development. Build strong relationships with students, families, staff, and community stakeholders. Maintain high expectations for student behavior and implement fair and consistent discipline practices. Promote effective communication and collaboration among all stakeholders. Operations & Management Oversee daily school operations, including supervision, scheduling, safety, and compliance. Ensure compliance with Florida Department of Education requirements, charter expectations, and state/federal regulations. Supervise and evaluate instructional and non-instructional personnel. Collaborate with leadership teams to support school improvement goals and operational effectiveness. Assist with budgeting, staffing, enrollment, and strategic planning initiatives. Community & Stakeholder Engagement Serve as the face of the school within the community. Communicate effectively with families, staff, board members, and community partners. Support recruitment, retention, and engagement initiatives for students and staff. Qualifications & Requirements Required Master's Degree or higher in Educational Leadership, School Administration, or related field. Valid Florida Educational Leadership Certification or eligibility for certification. Successful completion of the Florida Educational Leadership Examination (FELE). Minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience. Minimum of three (3) years of educational leadership experience preferred (Assistant Principal, Dean, Instructional Coach, etc.). Knowledge of Florida educational laws, accountability systems, and state assessments. Strong understanding of curriculum, instruction, MTSS, and data analysis. Excellent communication, organizational, leadership, and interpersonal skills. Preferred Experience working in a charter school setting. Experience leading school improvement initiatives and increasing student achievement. Experience supervising and coaching instructional staff. Knowledge of PBIS, restorative practices, and student support systems.
