Job Description

COTA North FL Therapy Services is seeking a Pediatric Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to provide Clinic and community-based services for pediatric clients: Full-time, established case load Varied caseload NFTS is seeking an energetic, caring, and collaborative COTA Full-time or Part-time hours available, with a set schedule. W-2 Employee or 1099 Contract option
Position Summary:
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) provides skilled support services under the supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist (OT) to help patients develop, recover, and improve the skills needed for daily living and working. The COTA implements treatment plans designed by the OT, assists in documenting patient progress, and collaborates with the therapy team to promote functional independence and overall well-being.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Carry out occupational therapy treatment plans according to the supervising OT's directions. Observe, record, and report patient responses, progress, and performance to the OT. Instruct patients and families in exercises, adaptive techniques, and use of assistive devices. Assist in evaluating the effectiveness of therapy programs and suggest modifications as needed. Maintain accurate documentation in accordance with facility, state, and federal regulations. Support a safe and motivating therapeutic environment. Participate in staff meetings, in-service training, and continuing education activities. Other duties as assigned.
Expectations:
Demonstrate skill and accuracy in providing therapeutic interventions to meet patient goals. Adjust activities to individual patient needs while maintaining safety and engagement. Ensure all therapy sessions reflect evidence-based practice and current professional standards. Complete timely, accurate, and thorough documentation of all patient sessions and progress. Communicate regularly and effectively with the supervising OT, interdisciplinary team, and family members. Report changes in patient condition or response to treatment promptly. Maintain confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA and organizational policies. Adhere to all state licensure laws, NBCOT standards, and the facility's code of ethics. Exhibit respect, compassion, and integrity in all interactions. Work cooperatively with OTs, other therapy staff, and healthcare team members to support coordinated care. Demonstrate reliability in attendance, punctuality, and task completion.
Qualifications:
Associate's degree in occupational therapy from an ACOTE accredited occupational therapy program (Preferred) Current certification as a Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) by NBCOT. Licensed or eligible for licensure in the state of Florida. Strong communication, organizational, and teamwork skills. Pediatric Occupational Therapist with a minimum of 1 year experience Compassionate, patient-centered approach to care. Professional liability insurance for 1099 employees ($1,000,000/$3,000,000)
Work Environment:
Services may be provided in clinics, and/or school settings May involve physical activity and behavioral interventions requiring quick response and safety awareness.
Physical Demands:
