PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Transformation Principal Supervisor (School Support Officer) serves as a dedicated instructional leader and change agent responsible for coaching and developing principals in high-need and turnaround school environments. In collaboration with the Office of Schools Leadership, this role informs the selection, hiring, and evaluation of principals, ensuring the right leadership talent is in place to drive meaningful and sustained school improvement. The Transformation Principal Supervisor builds principal capacity to accelerate student achievement, strengthen instructional practice, and lead organizational change at the school level. Working in close partnership with district departments, this role monitors and supports principals in the consistent and effective implementation of federal, state, and district policies and procedures, ensuring compliance while maintaining an unwavering focus on results for students and staff.

REQUIREMENTS:
Education Level:
Master's degree from an accredited college or university in Educational Administration or a related field.
Preferred:
Education Specialist or earned doctorate Licenses, Certifications, and other Requirements
Required:
Valid Georgia Professional Teaching certification in Education. Leadership Certificate in Educational Leadership. Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Education and Experience Ten (10) years of successful experience in education, preferably including experience in high-need or turnaround school settings. Four (4) years of principal experience with demonstrated results in improving student achievement, closing performance gaps, and building teacher effectiveness. Any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Preferred:
Education Specialist or earned doctorate from an accredited college or university. Experience in a large urban system characterized by multi-ethnic and cultural diversity. Duties and Responsibilities Develops, implements, monitors, and evaluates the school's instructional program with a relentless focus on accelerating student achievement and closing performance gaps. Designs and implements targeted, evidence-based programs to meet diverse student needs, emphasizing inclusion and equitable access for all learners, including students with special needs. Supervises instructional staff in curriculum design, implementation, and delivery, ensuring alignment to standards and high expectations for every student. Oversees accurate student data management and ensures data is consistently and effectively used to drive instructional decisions and improvement planning. Provides leadership in interpreting, reporting, and acting on student performance data to accelerate growth across all subgroups. Recruits, assigns, develops, and evaluates instructional and support staff with a focus on building a high-performing team capable of delivering results in a turnaround environment. Addresses staff performance and behavioral issues promptly, decisively, and in alignment with district policy, ensuring all adults in the building are held to high professional standards. Designs and leads a robust teacher development system, including ongoing coaching cycles, professional learning communities, and targeted feedback that improves instructional practice and student results. Leverages school system and community resources to enhance and sustain high-quality educational programs. Promotes meaningful parent and community engagement through the PTA and strategic partnerships that support student learning and school transformation. Ensures effective communication and productive conferences between teachers and parents that advance student growth and family trust. Pursues ongoing professional development and personal leadership growth to model continuous improvement and stay current with turnaround strategies and best practices. Maintains high standards for student conduct, attendance, and health as foundational conditions for learning and school culture change. Oversees school safety, emergency preparedness, and discipline procedures to maintain a secure and structured environment where learning can thrive. Reports school activities, challenges, and progress to district leadership with transparency and a solution-oriented mindset. Utilizes school-based management processes for continuous improvement, ensuring systems and structures support both teacher effectiveness and student success. Ensures compliance with Board policies, ethical standards, and all applicable legal regulations. Ensures the overall safety and security of the school building. Performs other duties as necessary for the effectiveness of the organization. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Knowledge of federal, state, and local education laws, including Title I, IDEA, and ADA compliance, and their specific application in turnaround school contexts. Knowledge of current educational trends, research, and evidence-based school leadership models proven to accelerate student achievement. Knowledge of high-leverage instructional practices, adult learning theory, and effective coaching frameworks that build teacher capacity and drive classroom results. Knowledge of student discipline policies, behavior management frameworks, and due process requirements that support a structured, positive learning environment. Strong leadership and organizational skills to manage multiple priorities, lead change, and sustain momentum in a complex turnaround environment. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for building trust and driving alignment with staff, students, parents, and the community. Conflict resolution and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate difficult conversations and make courageous decisions in service of students. Ability to foster a positive, inclusive, and high-expectations school climate and culture where all students and staff are valued and held accountable. Ability to build strong, collaborative relationships with staff, families, and community partners in support of the school's transformation goals. Ability to manage staff performance, conduct meaningful evaluations, and deliver constructive, growth-oriented feedback that improves instructional practice. Ability to make timely, informed decisions grounded in data, research, and stakeholder input with a clear focus on improving student outcomes. Ability to understand and communicate oral and written information clearly and effectively across diverse audiences. Ability to work collaboratively with principals, administrators, and school personnel to advance shared goals.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
Incumbents will receive an annual contract. The work calendar will be 250 days. Salary will be determined based on the level of certification and allowable experience on School Support Officer Scale. Savannah-Chatham County Public School System has the right to revise this job description at any time and it does not in any way represent a contract of employment. Incumbents will be considered "at will" and appropriate pay will be determined based on the assigned pay grade and allowable experience.

There is frequent use of computers, telephones, and other standard office equipment, which includes reading, listening, writing, or speaking. There are few exceptional physical or sensory demands.
