Job Description

Iowa Western Community College is currently seeking a Student Outreach & Support Office Assistant to join our exciting and student-focused team at our beautiful SW Iowa Campus, in Council Bluffs Iowa. This position reports to the Director of Student Outreach Support and Intervention and provides exceptional, friendly, and helpful customer service to students, faculty, and staff at the front desk of the Student Success Office. Assists students by answering general questions and providing directions to campus resources and buildings. Assists students with Rocky's Emergency Pantry. Offers general administrative support to the Student Life department. 1) Provide excellent customer service while answering questions posed by faculty, staff, and students. 2) Maintain strict confidentiality while assisting students who are utilizing services provided by the Student Life teams. 3) Practice strong attention to details when assisting students in Rocky's Emergency Pantry 4) Assists students by answering general questions and providing directions to campus resources and buildings. 5) Organize/restock/tidy Rocky's Emergency Pantry 6) Answer the front desk phone in a professional manner 7) Inform Student Life Team members as their appointments arrive 8) Maintain a positive attitude 9) Regular, prompt, and reliable attendance 10) Self-starter with the ability to perform with little or no direct supervision High School diploma or GED required; Currently an IWCC student. Must be a current IWCC student with a minimum GPA of 2.0 Must be able to work effectively with a team. Must be able to work independently without direct supervision on a day-to-day basis. Students may not work more than 25 hours/week during the academic semester.? Other duties as assigned by the Director of Student Outreach & Support Normal Office Light work (lift 10 lbs.)
