ANNOUNCEMENT
Southwestern Illinois College is accepting applications for the full-time administrative position of Academic Advisor. Applications are placed in a pool for review as positions become available.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
In accordance with the Mission and Values of Southwestern Illinois College, this is an administrative position that requires the advisor to assist students with the development of their academic interests and the successful completion of their degree program or certificate within the College. Specific knowledge of the approved academic program requirements and policies as they apply to current, transfer and returning students is required. In addition, the advisor is able to use computer applications for the storage, retrieval and analysis of student and college records. The position requires knowledge of the college's student information system. This position requires travel within the district to support growth and to ensure equal service to students and community members.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in an appropriate discipline is required. One year of related experience is required. Experience in higher education is preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite is required, PeopleSoft experience is preferred. Must successfully pass a criminal background check prior to hire. SALARY Grade 1 on the Administrative Salary Scale, ranging from $38,677 to $48,359 per year.
