The Director of Athletic Ministries will report to the Principal and Parish Director of Operations, and will be responsible for planning, coordinating and directing all activities to support the successful operation of our athletic program. This position requires a joyful, mission-driven leader who will work to positively and professionally to build up our community in working with school administration, coaches, parents, students, and other schools' athletic programs/personnel to coordinate a successful and flourishing athletic program. The Director of Athletic Ministries also has the primary responsibility for coordinating our volunteer coaches and ensuring all comply positively and professionally with the mission and policies of St. Vincent's and the Diocese of Fort Wayne-South Bend. In addition, the Director of Athletic Ministries serves as St. Vincent's liaison to the CYO, representing St. Vincent's at 4 CYO meetings/year and implements our virtues program for athletics, Open Light. The Athletic Director must be able to exercise strong independent judgment in support of our mission, often representing the School as the lead administrator present during games and practices. This position is part time, and requires flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, to be present during games, practices, and/or athletic events. The Athletic Director may also meet with coaches or administration in daytime hours and maintain professional communications via school email. Qualified candidates will have a demonstrated commitment to Christ and support of His Church, along with our School's mission, strong experience and background in athletics/fitness/health, experience with leadership and coordinating multiple personnel/volunteers, and experience with and enjoyment of a varying schedule with evening/weekend hours.
