Job Description

The TCP/TCI Assistant Principal serves as an instructional leader responsible for advancing teaching and learning across the school. In partnership with the Principal, this role leads the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of instructional practices, supports staff through coaching and professional learning, and uses data to drive student achievement. The Assistant Principal also supports school operations to ensure a safe and effective learning environment.
Qualifications/Responsibilities:

Days Instructional Leadership Skills:
Assist the Principal in implementing the school's instructional vision and academic goals. Knowledge of grade-level curriculum and assessments. Analyze student achievement data to guide instruction. Support the implementation of curriculum aligned with district and state standards. Conduct classroom observations and provide instructional coaching and feedback to teachers to support instructional improvement. Assist with planning and facilitating professional development for instructional staff, including facilitating PLCs and data team meetings.
Discipline and School Climate:
Investigate student behavior incidents and determine appropriate consequences and interventions. Maintain accurate records related to student discipline and behavioral incidents. Work with students, parents, and staff to resolve behavioral concerns Foster a safe, inclusive, and supportive environment that enhances student achievement and staff retention. Implement restorative and proactive behavior practices Use behavior data to inform interventions, Support teachers in classroom management as an instructional skill, Promote PBIS or similar frameworks.
Staff Supervision and Support:
Assist with the evaluation of certified and support staff in accordance with district policies. Support teachers through coaching, mentoring, and professional growth opportunities. Help coordinate staff schedules, duties, and substitute coverage as needed. Supervise extracurricular activities, as needed. Support supervision systems and procedures that ensure safe and efficient school operations.
School Operations:
Assist in managing the day-to-day operations of the school, including arrival, dismissal, lunch, recess, and transportation procedures. Support the development and management of the school schedule. Ensure compliance with district policies, procedures, and safety regulations. Assist with emergency preparedness and crisis response procedures.
Family and Community Engagement:
Communicate with parents and guardians regarding student academic progress, attendance, and behavior. Support family engagement activities, school events, and community partnerships. Address parent and community concerns in a professional and timely manner.
Student Services and Support:
Monitor student attendance and implement interventions to address chronic absenteeism. Collaborate with counselors, special education staff, and other personnel to meet student needs. Support the implementation of student intervention programs and services.
Data, Compliance, and Reporting:
Assist in the development, implementation, and monitoring of the school improvement plan. Ensure accurate reporting and documentation required by the district and state. Monitor and analyze school data related to student achievement, attendance, and discipline.
Other Duties:
Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal or district administration to support the effective operation of the school.
