SEL Integration Specialist Job Description:
The SEL integration specialist will function in a monitoring and support role to ensure that all schools understand and are adhering to the district's SEL curriculum at the elementary level. The specialist will visit schools, attend and assist with professional development around SEL objectives and will provide feedback to school staff and administration and monitor their current SEL practices and recordkeeping as part of the District's SEL support team.Performance Responsibilities:
Assisting in the needs assessment process in district schools to determine appropriate SEL programming and recommendations. Designee for the district, Responsible for assessing implementation of bullying curriculum, grades K-12. Designing and leading the implementation of social-emotional curricula in all schools and grade levels across the District. Planning and coordinating appropriate SEL related professional development opportunities for K-12 school staff. Forming partnerships with K-12 stakeholders to develop and integrate SEL programming and curriculum in district schools. Responding to emerging school needs through analysis of data collected at the schools, providing school based support as needed, including modeling or providing development opportunities for teachers. Preparing, developing, and implementing parent education workshops related to social-emotional learning. Collaborate with district leadership to implement and refine assessment/survey tools that assess and audit school climates. Responsible for ensuring cultural diversity is embedded in our curriculum. Other duties and responsibilities as directed by the District.Qualifications:
Masters Degree Prior teaching experience in a K-12 setting. Prior experience in managing social emotional learning in a public school setting. Leadership experience preferred. Excellent organizational, technology and communication skills Massachusetts DESE Administrator's License, or the ability to obtain within one year. Knowledge of Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education Guidelines on the Implementation of Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) Curricula K-12 The Superintendent of Schools reserves the right to waive a position qualification or determine that there is an acceptable alternative to that qualification. If the Superintendent intends to waive a qualification, such intent will be shared with the Fall River School Committee.Reports To:
