Job Description

Pioneer Valley Performing Arts Charter Public School (PVPA) provides students with a supportive and challenging environment that is responsive to multiple learning styles, emphasizes learning through the arts, and integrates critical and creative thinking throughout the curriculum. PVPA prepares all of our students for higher education by employing a rigorous, standards-based curriculum in a nurturing and collaborative environment.

We work with students to assume responsibility, not avoid it. The Academic Support Department contributes to these goals by: 1.establishing a positive learning environment2.identifying and implementing services that address each students individual learning style, strengths, and challenges3.fostering feelings of empowerment that help students advocate on their own behalf and assume responsibility for their own learning.

PVPA has an opportunity for a Special Education Team Leader (ETL) for the 2026-2027 school year. We are currently seeking highly qualified candidates for a full-time position managing the IEP process. Under the direction of the Director of Student Services, you will be responsible for: 1.Serving as chairperson of IEP Team meetings2.Completing mandatory documentation paperwork from Team meetings3.Development/writing/review of Individualized Educational Plans4.Regular communication and collaboration with staff /administration involved in the Team process5.Collaborate with the special education liaisons, guidance counselors, and families to develop consents for evaluations based on the individual case6.Collaborate with personnel in the sending districts to help transition students with IEPs into PVPA7.Engage and partner with families involved in the IEP Team process8.Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with general education staff.9.Routine collaboration with Special Education support staff10.Maintain routine contact with the Student Services Office11.Attend school-wide trainings and Special Education department meetings
