Position Title:
ELEMENTARY PRINCIPAL

Primary Function:
To serve as the educational leader for Warren Community Elementary School Funded by:

District Budget
Qualifications:
oMust hold appropriate Massachusetts Licensure for Principal/Assistant Principal; oExperience as a successful educational leader; oA minimum of 5 years as a successful teacher; oMinimum of a Master's Degree in Education; oKnowledge and experience with supervision and evaluation, curriculum development, scheduling and personnel management; oEffective communication skills; oInnovative, motivational and collaborative leadership style; oCommitted to Educational Excellence.
Responsibilities:
oTo coordinate the program of instruction for all grades K through six; oTo develop, recommend, and implement research-based teaching methods, procedures, and practices; oTo approve, support, and implement the delivery of services, in collaboration with the Administrator of Special Education, to children with Individualized Education Plans; oTo evaluate the effectiveness of all personnel in the school and to re-employ or discharge school personnel; oTo assign teachers and other school personnel to various duties; oTo develop professional development programs for staff; oTo assist in the planning and implementation of curriculum development and revision; oTo supervise the school's discipline program and implementation of curriculum development and revision; oTo supervise the school's testing program, consistent with district and state policies; oTo supervise the record-keeping system for all students; oTo attract and retain the most qualified teachers; oTo serve as co-chair of the school's council and develop an annual School Learning Plan; oTo assess the budgetary needs of the school and recommend an annual budget to the Superintendent of Schools; oTo demonstrate and model educational excellence through instructional leadership.
