Job Description

Director of Student Services Position Summary The Director of Student Services supports student success by serving as a primary resource for students who may be experiencing challenges that could affect their ability to complete their program. This role provides guidance and support, monitors student engagement and retention, coordinates student events, and connects students with appropriate campus and community resources. The Director of Student Services works closely with campus leadership, faculty, and staff to create a supportive and engaging student experience. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Serve as a caring, accessible resource and advocate for students throughout their academic journey. Monitor student attendance, engagement, and retention and proactively reach out to students who may need additional support. Meet with students to identify challenges, provide guidance, and connect them with appropriate campus or community resources. Maintain current resources for services such as childcare, housing, transportation, medical care, and counseling. Recognize when student needs are outside the scope of the position and provide appropriate referrals to qualified community resources. Plan and coordinate student activities and events, including new student orientation, graduation, student recognition events, and other campus activities. Collaborate with faculty and staff to address student concerns and support student success. Maintain accurate and timely student services documentation and records. Prepare student services reports for campus and corporate leadership as required. Ensure student services activities comply with institutional policies, applicable state and federal requirements, and accreditation standards. Maintain appropriate confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive student information. Assist with open houses, job fairs, and other activities that support student engagement and community partnerships. Participate in staff and faculty meetings and other student services meetings as required. Work collaboratively with other departments and corporate student services personnel to share best practices and support campus goals. Promote a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment for students, faculty, and staff. Perform other duties as assigned. Skills, Qualifications & Competencies Minimum of three years of relevant experience in student services, counseling, human resources, education, or a related field. An appropriate college degree may be substituted for related work experience. Excellent communication, interpersonal, and relationship-building skills. Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, staff, and community partners. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and computerized data management systems preferred. Position Details
