QUALIFICATIONS
Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate with proper endorsement Must meet
MCL 380.1531
& Administrative Rules Governing the Certification of MI Teachers Must have a minimum of 5 years teaching experience Knowledge of applicable Federal and State statutes Reading Recovery training preferred or willing to obtain Shows knowledge of current literacy practices and strategies Thorough knowledge of the components of a comprehensive literacy program and literacy strategies Skilled in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with co-workers, students, and parents and the general public Such alternatives to the above qualifications as the Board of Education and/or Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable • Applicant must provide evidence of meeting qualification
DUTIES:
Coordinate and provide strategic instructional coaching to meet the individual needs of teachers Model effective instructional strategies for teachers Facilitate Study Groups Train Teachers in Data Analysis and Differentiated Instruction Coach and Mentor colleagues Ensure Evidence Based Reading Programs Train Teachers to Diagnose and Address Reading Deficiencies Work with teachers in applying evidence based Reading Strategies in other content areas Work frequently with pupils in whole and small group instruction or tutoring in the contents of modeling and coaching in or outside of teachers' classrooms Increase Instructional Density Help Lead and support Reading Leadership Teams Model and Train teachers in accordance with Lincoln Park Schools instructional philosophy and curriculum Model Small and Whole Group Instruction Train new hires before school starts Will not serve as a function in any administrative capacity Other duties as assigned
