QUALIFICATIONS
1. Bachelor's Degree in Social Sciences or Education 2. Perform a free, nationwide NSOPW search before candidate begins work or service 3. Excellent communication skills 4. Excellent computer skills 5. Excellent organizational skills 6. Ability to work independently 7. Advocate and empower older adults at the individual and community level. 8. Expand educational opportunities for service volunteers. 9. Other qualifications as the Board of Trustees may deem necessary.
RESPONSIBLE TO
Superintendent
GENERAL DUTIES
Responsible for the development and management of a volunteer RSVP Federal Program for Butte School District No. 1
SPECIFIC DUTIES:
1. Develop RSVP volunteer workstations to include Reading mentors Reading assistants/tutors Library assistants Family mentors Learning through Community Service volunteers After-school mentors 2. Recruit senior volunteers for Programs. 3. Recruit corporate sponsors. 4. Design and develop training programs for the RSVP volunteers. 5. Through the Superintendent's Office, work with Administrators in placement of volunteers in schools, and after-school programs and community child-centered programs. 6. Develop network of volunteers matching their specific qualifications to the needs of the program. 7. Act as liaison between RSVP Program and Superintendent. 8. Develop and maintain community support linkages with local businesses and community members including solicitation of financial support. 9. Review and assess program, providing the information to the Superintendent 10. Participate in RSVP State meetings. 11. Design public relations campaign for the program. 12. Act as confidential employee to the Superintendent 13. Grant writing and management. 14. Other duties as assigned by the Superintendent.

EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plan and solid geometry and trigonometry. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. OTHER SKILLS and
ABILITIES
Proficiency with microcomputer applications and office supervisory experience required. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory in specific field. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the school community. Ability to speak clearly and concisely both in oral and written communication. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

Pay:
