Job Description

To serve as a senior expert generalist, guiding students into and throughout a successful college experience, while providing oversight and direction to other Navigators. The Senior Navigator develops additional expertise and skills relating to career fields and college processes; serves as a liaison to other college departments and programs; and is expected to serve as a team lead for entry level Navigators at a given campus. Provides friendly, timely, and accurate customer service and information to students and staff and responsible for ensuring delivery of exceptional hospitality. Helps students navigate onboarding, registration, financial aid, and other college processes. Coordinates the scheduling and coverage of the Navigator staff and Welcome Desk on a specific campus including approving leave requests. Coordinates with other Student Affairs staff on a specific campus to ensure effective service to students. Assesses students' basic needs and interests. Uses a guided pathways approach to help students create or clarify productive educational and career goals. Provides general academic and student support through technology and on campuses. Represents the college at events and open houses. Communicates important policies and processes to students and college staff, by serving as a liaison to other departments and programs. Assists with marketing resources and activities designed to engage and retain students by connecting them to support, career goals, social and networking activities and the like. Develops and shares knowledge of current best practices in serving community college students. Assists in further developing and refining the Student Success Navigator system, incorporating a guided pathways approach to student enrollment and retention, helping to create a seamless transition into academic programs. Assists in hiring, managing, and training staff and programs within the Navigator system, especially on a specific campus. Performs other duties as assigned. Bachelor's Degree from an accredited institution and 6 months experience in a college, customer service or administrative working environment.
