Job Description
Supply Coordinator - Summer Programs 2026 The Opportunity Carolina Friends School Summer Programs is seeking a Supply Coordinator to join our vibrant summer community from June 8, 2026, through August 7, 2026. This position will include working with children ages three to 18 and performing organizational work as a member of the Summer Programs Leadership Team. This position will be responsible for the collection and purchasing of camp and food services supplies for Carolina Friends School Summer Programs. We run roughly 20 specialty camps each week, most of which require their own supplies based on their theme/focus. Duties for this position will include reviewing supply lists from instructors, finding existing materials in our supply storage, purchasing items on Amazon, and making trips to craft, grocery, and specialty stores for needed items; tracking inventory of food services items and restocking when needed; maintaining a budget, organizing receipts, and tracking expenses in compliance with the School's accounting protocols. This position also helps out as a member of the Leadership team, supporting car-line and snack/lunch duty as needed. Our summer courses are open to the broader community and rooted in our school's mission, values, and vision. All of our courses are held on the Carolina Friends School's main campus, conveniently located between Chapel Hill and Durham on 126 acres of woodlands and pastureland. Compensation:
17.85/hr Daily expectations include: Interacting and forming connections with the children and being a friendly, reliable presence throughout the summer Problem-solving as situations arise throughout the day, interacting with parents/families, students, teachers, and other school staff Gathering supply lists from teachers via email/Google Survey Doing thorough, detailed, frugal online shopping (mostly Amazon) Making thorough, detailed, frugal outings to craft stores, general stores, grocery stores, etc. Organizing receipts and tracking expenses in compliance with the School's accounting protocols Keeping office supply shelves organized Creating supply boxes for teachers (fulfilling their supply list) Leading high-school and college-aged interns in gathering and properly dealing with used supplies from classrooms and in delivering new supplies Collaborating with other Summer Leadership Team members to complete other pressing tasks Strong candidates will have and/or demonstrate: Delight in actively engaging and supervising with elementary and middle school-aged students Experience as a supervisor in a childcare setting and the ability to manage a team of staff Success creating and maintaining safe, appropriate, and engaging programs with this age Strong understanding of child development Ability to foster positive relationships with and among students and parents An understanding of and strong affinity for Quaker philosophy and the School's mission Strong communication skills Ability and interest in collaborative work with colleagues A willingness to understand how power and inequality, influenced by factors such as race, class, gender, sexuality, and learning and physical differences impact our students and families Ability to meet varied demands with integrity, enthusiasm, creativity, flexibility, and a sense of humor How toApply:
