January 2027 About the Position The Hawbridge School is seeking a collaborative and student-centered leader to serve as the Upper School Assistant Director. As part of Hawbridge's shared leadership model, this administrator will work closely with the Executive Director, Lower School Assistant Director, and Assistant Director of Student Services and Instruction to support students, teachers, and families in grades 7-12. This position will focus on strengthening instruction, supporting teachers, improving student achievement, and maintaining a positive school culture while helping prepare the Upper School for continued growth. Primary Responsibilities- Provide daily leadership for grades 7-12.
- Support and coach teachers through classroom observations and feedback.
- Lead instructional improvement using student data.
- Support PLCs, MTSS, and intervention planning.
- Build positive relationships with students and families.
- Oversee student discipline and promote a positive school culture.
- Assist with scheduling, testing, and daily school operations.
- Support new teacher mentoring and professional development.
- Collaborate with the leadership team to implement school goals.
- Promote Hawbridge's place-based learning philosophy.
Qualifications:
Required- North Carolina Administrator License (or ability to obtain)
- Master's degree in Educational Leadership or related field
- Successful teaching and instructional leadership experience
- Strong communication, organizational, and relationship-building skills Preferred
- Charter school experience
- Experience with MTSS, PLCs, and instructional coaching
