Job Description

Assistant Director for Academic Success - Academic Outreach and Intervention Creighton University United States, Nebraska, Omaha 2500 California Plaza (Show on map) May 01, 2026 The Office of Academic Success is a critical student-centered resource within Creighton's Division of Student Success and physically housed within The Success Center. This Assistant Director for the Office of Academic Success reports to the Director of Academic Success. The Assistant Director serves as an Academic Success Coach and provides leadership and oversight for the University's Academic Intervention Program and Academic Recovery Program. Provides leadership and coordination for the development of various campus-wide academic success programming such as workshops and seminars. Serves as liaison with the Dean's offices and Financial Aid Office for their academic action processes including dismissals, scholarship loss and appeals. Coordinate student academic support efforts with the Office of Student Accessibility Services and Student Counseling Services.
Essential Functions:
Leads academic support and intervention programs for students who are academically at risk or on academic probation (AIP/ARP). Serves as an Academic Success Coach, including teaching TSC Success courses, and leads Academic Intervention Seminars. Provides leadership in the presentation, development, and facilitation of campus-wide academic success outreach initiatives, including programs, seminars, and workshops for current and prospective students and families. Ensure strategic direction, data collection, and overall success monitoring of areas within this position's scope. Supervises a Graduate Student Worker who provides academic support in the Success Hubs, including developing and executing Success Hub programming. Various University Committees and Projects and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Master's degree in Education, Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, Student Affairs, or a related field preferred. Minimum 2 years related work experience in higher education, secondary education, or related area, some supervisory experience.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Demonstrated ability to design, implement and evaluate effective academic support programs, workshops, initiatives, and curriculum for Success Strategies courses. Demonstrated ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with students, faculty, staff, and stakeholders across diverse academic disciplines. Knowledge of student development theories, academic intervention/coaching models, student persistence and retention data/assessment and high-impact practices. Proficient in data analysis to inform decision-making. Experience with teaching, advising, or counseling key student populations-specifically first-generation and under-represented students.
