JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY
The Records Assistant reviews and evaluates official college transcripts; posts transfer credits to student records; processes various forms; communicates with internal and external constituents; uses and updates databases; assists with phone and office coverage; and assists with various office projects, as assigned. ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS
Reviews and evaluates official college transcripts. Post transfer credits to student records. Uses and updates various departmental databases. Drafts and sends communication pieces to students, faculty, and staff. Maintains a current procedural manual for position. Answers multi-line telephone and directs calls to appropriate staff. Greets students, faculty and other customers, directing them to the appropriate resources. Assist with filing. Assist with various office projects as needed. Attend work activities or programs as scheduled or assigned.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Monday - Friday, 8-5pm This is an onsite position located at the Fort Omaha Campus
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Excellent typing skills, knowledge of computer applications, including how to research on the internet and the ability to use Microsoft software and SharePoint with a high level of proficiency. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of College programs and services. Knowledge of general office procedures. Knowledge of FERPA regulations. Excellent organizational and time management skills. Ability to maintain accurate files. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Ability to maintain professionalism, patience and understanding in stressful situations. Ability to effectively work/interact with various cultures and ethnicities.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree required. Three (3) years of related work experience. Equivalent combination of education and/or related work experience considered. Knowledge of Microsoft Office and SharePoint software required. Must pass background check. Bachelor's degree preferred.
