Job Description

Hinsdale Elementary School is in search of an experienced instructional leader with a passion for improving literacy, building culture through evidenced-based practices, and addressing the social, emotional, and mental health needs of students. Located in the southwest corner of New Hampshire along the Connecticut River, Hinsdale is a small, rural community boasting tremendous civic pride, community care, and a commitment to educating its children at high levels. It seeks a dedicated and compassionate leader who believes in doing whatever it takes for all students to be successful. The Interim Principal will begin immediately and will also be encouraged to participate in the search process for a permanent Principal who would begin on July 1, 2027. The general responsibilities of the position include: 1.Promote the success of all students consistent with a vision for learning that is shared and supported by the community, school board, and Superintendent of Schools.2.Continue the development, articulation, implementation, and stewardship of best practices for pupils in elementary and secondary education.3.Advocate, nurture, and sustain a school culture and instructional program conducive to student learning and staff professional growth.4.Lead a team that ensures management of the organization, operations, and resources for a safe, efficient, and effective learning environment.5.Collaborate with families and community members, responding to diverse community interests and needs, and mobilizing community resources.6.Assign, direct, and be responsible for the evaluation of all personnel employed in the school in accordance with local school board policy, administrative rules, and as directed by the Superintendent.7.Attend and participate in meetings of the Hinsdale School Board and its committee, as scheduled.8.Serve as a member of the Superintendents Senior Leadership Team.9.Assist in preparing, submitting, and recommending the school budget for the Hinsdale School Boards consideration.10.Perform any duty assigned by the Superintendent in accordance with local school board policy, state statutes, and rules of the State Board of Education.
