Student Advising Position Summary Under the supervision and direction of the Executive Director of the One Stop Shop/Designee, the One Stop Shop Specialist I is cross-trained to serve most student service-related concerns in NNMC's One Stop Shop Center. The OSS Specialist I provides a full range of student support services and is knowledgeable in recruitment, enrollment, registration, student records, financial aid, placement testing, online resources, and academic support services. The OSS Specialist also assists with New Student Orientation and recruiting activities. Duties & Responsibilities Demonstrate dedication to job performance and complete tasks as assigned. Accept direction and guidance from supervisory personnel. Adhere to work schedule. Direct, support, and assist faculty and staff in clearly understanding their responsibilities and assignments, obtaining the tools, skills, and resources needed, and in successfully meeting their goals and performance. Read, interpret, and communicate College policies and procedures Provide information to students, potential students, parents, and general public regarding policies, programs, and procedures. Request additional information for subject matter specialists as needed Remain current in knowledge of deadlines and general college policies related to financial aid, tuition payment, testing, orientation, class registration, add/drop/withdrawal from classes. Promote awareness of current programs, classes, scholarship programs, etc. Assist with campus tours, recruiting, new student orientation, and other programs as assigned. At all times, take necessary steps and precautions to preserve confidentiality of protected information as per college policies and state and federal laws (FERPA). Contribute to the overall success of the One Stop Shop by performing related duties as assigned.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS
Associate's degree from an accredited institution.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Two years of experience in educational environment with specific experience in customer service. Experience with Banner Ellucian Experience with Google Suite and Microsoft Office Suite KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and
ABILITIES
Skills in interpersonal communications Skills in organizational and time management Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Ability to work independently and as part of a team; be highly motivated, focused, and results-oriented. PHYSICAL DEMANDS
No or very limited physical effort required; Must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; No or very limited exposure to physical risk.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Work is normally performed in a typical office environment. Work regularly requires more than 40 hours per week. This is not a remote work position.
