Board of Trustees Position Summary The principal serves as the chief educational and spiritual leader of the school, responsible for advancing its Franciscan mission, academic excellence, and formation of young men of character, faith, and intellect. The principal fosters a community rooted in Franciscan values, promotes rigorous academics, and cultivates leadership, discipline, and service among students. Key Responsibilities Mission & Franciscan Identity- Uphold and promote Franciscan values in all aspects of school life
- Collaborate with campus ministry to support liturgies, retreats, and faith formation programs
- Serve as a visible witness to Franciscan values and moral leadership Academic Leadership
- Oversee curriculum development, ensuring alignment with NYS and college preparatory standards and Franciscan philosophy
- Supervise and evaluate faculty to maintain high instructional quality
- Promote innovation in teaching, learning, and student achievement
- Monitor academic performance and implement continuous improvement strategies Student Formation & Discipline
- Foster the holistic development of students—spiritual, intellectual, physical, and social
- Promote a culture of respect, accountability, and brotherhood
- Oversee student discipline policies consistent with Franciscan values and school standards Faculty & Staff Management
- Recruit, hire, develop, and retain mission-aligned faculty and staff
- Encourage ongoing professional development
- Build a collaborative, supportive, and accountable work environment Community Engagement
- Build strong relationships with parents, alumni, parish communities, and the broader Western New York community
- Serve as the public face of the school
- Partner with the Board on strategic planning and long-term vision Qualifications
- Master's Degree in Education and NYS Administration Certification, or related field (Doctorate preferred)
- Minimum of 5-10 years of educational leadership experience.
- Strong background in curriculum development, faculty supervision, and school administration
- Demonstrated commitment to the formation of young men
- Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills Core Competencies
