• Temporary, Part-time We are seeking a thoughtful, engaged educational aide to support a 19-year-old college student during his participation in the Skidmore Summer Writing Program.

The student is recovering from a traumatic brain injury and this role sits at the intersection of accommodations/academic support, social support and safety. It's ideal for someone who enjoys helping a student participate in creative writing classes, maintain safety and rebuild social confidence. Passion for poetry and creative writing a big plus. This position would be ideal for a current Skidmore student, recent Skidmore Grad, or someone with a knowledge of campus and the surrounding area. The student will be living at Skidmore from June 21 to July 18. We are seeking two aides to split the responsibilities and schedule. 1) Attend classes with the student, supporting any accommodations needs, and participate in activities during the day, including literary activities as part of the program, walks, going to the gym, etc. 2) Take over after hours and overnights; hang out in the evening, accompany to social events. Student will have a two bedroom apartment, with one room for the aide.

A minimum of 10 hours per week is guaranteed with the final schedule TBD by the successful applicants' schedules.
