Student Support Specialist (Part-Time) Sinclair Community College - 4.2 Centerville, OH Job Details Part-time $20.43 an hour 21 hours ago Benefits Opportunities for advancement Qualifications In-person customer service High school diploma or GED Productivity software Full Job Description The Sinclair Centerville Student Support Specialist delivers optimal customer service to students, faculty, staff and campus visitors, as well as provide indirect clerical support to advisors and campus leadership, when needed. Student Support Specialists greet campus visitors, answer phones, perform student intake, administer and proctor tests, schedule advising appointments, perform bursar duties, enter registrations, and monitor student workers assigned to the front desk. This position is the first point of contact and the main source of general information to students. Success in this position requires a consistently professional demeanor and thorough knowledge of college policies, procedures and online resources. The hourly pay rate for this position is $20.43 and has a maximum of 28 hours per week. Why work for Sinclair College? Principal Accountabilities Customer service:
respond to student questions regarding enrollment, registration, financial aid, bursar, testing, campus policies, and general college policies/procedures Call management: answer phones, route calls, and provide phone assistance
Cashiering:
receive tuition payments, perform daily set-up and end-of-day closing including daily cashier logs and preparing deposits.
Advisor support:
schedule advisor appointments, make reminder phone calls, coordinate preparation of new student information, and participate in new student orientation Testing support: proctor placement tests, academic tests Other duties as assigned Requirements Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree preferred Minimum of two (2) years of customer service experience required; previous experience cashiering preferred Possession of analytical thinking skills required Strong customer service skills, effective interpersonal communication skills and professional demeanor required Demonstrated computer proficiency skills in Microsoft Office and web-based programs required Ability to learn cashiering or other custom software programs preferred Ability to work in a team environment required
