Min Hourly Rate $15.05 (Standard); $14.05 (Non-Urban); $16.30 (Portland Metro) Max Hourly Rate $21.50 (Standard); $21.00 (Non-Urban); $22.00 (Portland Metro) Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill five (5) part-time (a maximum of 24 hours per week) Ambassadors for the College of Liberal Arts Admin at Oregon State University (OSU). College of Liberal Arts Student Services Ambassadors are often the first contact many current and prospective students and families have with the college. Ambassadors represent the college during recruiting events and open houses; present information about the college to visiting prospective students; assist current students in the office of CLA Students Services and Career Services by assisting with scheduling advising appointments, answering questions over email and phones, and directing students to appropriate campus resources. Successful candidates will have a major within the College of Liberal Arts, should enjoy working with and helping people; have strong customer service skills; have a wide range of OSU experiences and have the willingness to these experiences with prospective students. Transferable Skill Development OSU ismitted to ensuring students are prepared for success after graduation through intentional skill development as student employees. Thepetencies students develop while working at OSU are defined by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) as the essential skills employers seek in their hires. In this position, students learn and build vital career-readiness skills in the primary areas below: Communication, Critical Thinking, Teamwork, and Professionalism Position Duties Effectivelymunicate and engage students, advisors, faculty, staff, and visitors using clear, professional and weing written and verbalmunication skills to answer question via phone, email, and in person.
Presentations and Promotion:
Use current technology to provide presentations in-person and virtually to prospective students, parents and guests of the College of Liberal Arts. Provide presentations for the Career Services office on resume, cover letters, job search strategies, and other career-related topics to students. Promote College of Liberal Arts Student Services via social media and campus events. Promote the College of Liberal Arts at recruitment events. Lead and collaborate in a team environment with other CLA Ambassadors, College of Liberal Arts student services faculty and staff, and other ambassadors and units across OSU. Participates in first-year and new student orientation programs: Assists with the implementation of first-year student advising and registration process for new students. s stories and insight with new students during advising and recruitment presentations. With guidance and collaboration from the Student Success Coordinator, help plan,anize, and facilitate College of Liberal Arts student retention events. Hosts various College of Liberal Arts events with CLA Ambassadors and CLA Student Services faculty and staff.
