Position Summary This recruitment will be used to fill one part-time 10-12 hours per week (a maximum of 20 hours per week with the potential to work more hours per week outside of academic terms winter, spring and summer breaks) Student Clerical position for the Office of International Services at Oregon State University (OSU). This position will start in Summer 2026. The Student Office Assistant will be responsible for assisting with front desk duties as well as providing general clerical and logistical support for the office. Thepetencies students develop while working at OSU are defined by the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) as the essential skills employers seek in their hires. In this position, students learn and build vital career-readiness skills in the primary areas below: Communication, Teamwork, Professionalism, and Technology. Position Duties Serve as front desk reception to greet and refer those who contact the Office of International Services including international students and scholars, domestic students, faculty and staff from campus, and guests from around the world.
Answer inquiries in person, by phone, or email; Make appropriate referrals.
Coordinate appointments for international students and scholars.
Maintain confidentiality of student information.
Prepare work orders related to immigration and sponsor advising.
Provide general clerical and logistical support, including mailing, scanning, filing, data entry, and Excel spreadsheet management.
Manage the processing and assignment of documents to international student advisors.
Assist in document retention and management, including the filing and delivery of immigration documents.
Assists with ongoing projects. Must meet Academic Standing Requirements; students on academic suspension are not eligible for employment
Must meet the applicable minimal enrollment standard
High School student: Regularly enrolled in a high school or participating in a home-schooling program
Undergraduate and post-baccalaureate student: 6 credit hours per term
Undergraduate international student: 12 credit hours per term•

9 credit hours per term•International students may be allowed to carry fewer hours than specified above and still be considered "full-time" by the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS). A reduced course load is approved by the Office of International Services (OIS), and must be provided to the Student Employment Center. Additional Required Qualifications Must be able tomit to working during the academic year and between academic terms. Must be able to work 10-12 hours per week during the summer. Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc) and internet applications. Patience andpassion whenmunicating with non-native English speakers. Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment with frequent interruptions. Excellent interpersonal, oral, and writtenmunication skills. Interest in working in a multicultural environment. Experience with detail-oriented tasks. This position is designated as a critical or security-sensitive position; tfore, the incumbent must successfullyplete a Criminal History Check and be determined to be position qualified as per OSU Standard 576-055-0000 et seq. Incumbents are required to self-report convictions and those in Youth Programs may have additional Criminal History Checks every 2 years. Preferred (Special) Qualifications Minimum of a 2.75 GPA preferred. Work study preferred but not required. Experience with data entry and information processing. Prior administrative office experience and/or reception experience. Working Conditions / Work Schedule This position requires employee to work 10-12 hours per week starting in summer 2026 and throughout the academic year. T may be opportunities for additional hours.
