Robert Benjamin Wiley Community Charter School is seeking a dedicated and highly organized Director of Student Support Services to join our school leadership team. The Director will oversee key student support and operational functions, including behavior support services, attendance and truancy interventions, transportation services, transportation bus monitors, front office operations, student discipline documentation, and required state reporting. The ideal candidate will be a collaborative, student-centered leader with strong organizational, communication, data-management, and supervisory skills. This position requires an individual who can effectively manage staff, establish and maintain efficient systems, monitor student support and attendance data, and work collaboratively with school leadership to support a safe, welcoming, and productive school environment.

Chief School Administrator Essential Responsibilities Student & Behavior Support Provide leadership and oversight for behavior support staff and related student support services. Supervise, coach, and evaluate behavior support personnel to ensure effective performance and professional growth. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, families, and other school personnel to address student behavioral and support needs. Help develop and implement consistent behavior support practices and procedures throughout the school. Monitor student support processes and identify opportunities for improvement. Promote a positive, safe, respectful, and supportive school climate. Ensure that all student infractions, disciplinary incidents, interventions, and related actions are accurately and promptly entered into the school's Student Information System (SIS). Monitor student discipline records for accuracy, completeness, and timely documentation. Ensure discipline documentation is maintained in accordance with school policies and applicable requirements. Attendance & Truancy Provide leadership and oversight of the school's attendance and truancy prevention and intervention efforts. Monitor student attendance and identify students who demonstrate patterns of chronic absenteeism or unexcused absences. Ensure timely communication with parents and guardians regarding attendance concerns. Coordinate attendance interventions and appropriate follow-up with students and families. Maintain accurate attendance and truancy documentation in accordance with school policies and applicable requirements. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, counselors, and student support staff to develop appropriate attendance interventions. Coordinate truancy-related meetings, conferences, and interventions as needed. Work with families and appropriate community resources to identify and address barriers to regular school attendance. Ensure that attendance and truancy procedures are consistently implemented across the school. Provide regular attendance and truancy updates and reports to the Chief School Administrator. Ensure required attendance and truancy information is accurately maintained in the SIS and submitted through applicable state reporting systems. Pennsylvania Department of Education Reporting & Compliance Coordinate and complete the school's required annual Pennsylvania Department of Education (PDE) reporting in collaboration with the Chief School Administrator and appropriate school personnel. Ensure required annual reports, data submissions, and supporting documentation are complete, accurate, timely, and submitted in accordance with PDE requirements and established deadlines. Coordinate the collection, verification, and reconciliation of student, attendance, discipline, enrollment, and other data required for state reporting. Review data entered into the SIS and other school databases to identify discrepancies and ensure reporting accuracy. Maintain organized documentation and supporting records for PDE reporting, audits, monitoring, and compliance reviews. Monitor applicable PDE reporting requirements and communicate changes in requirements or deadlines to appropriate school personnel. Collaborate with administrative and instructional staff to ensure data is entered accurately and consistently throughout the school year. Assist the Chief School Administrator with responding to PDE inquiries, requests for information, audits, and compliance matters. Transportation Services & Bus Monitor Management Develop, maintain, and manage daily and annual schedules for transportation bus monitors. Assign bus monitors to routes based on student needs, transportation schedules, staffing availability, and school requirements. Supervise, manage, and evaluate transportation bus monitors. Establish clear expectations and procedures for bus monitors regarding student supervision, safety, conduct, attendance, and communication. Ensure bus monitors are appropriately assigned and present for scheduled transportation duties. Monitor bus monitor attendance, punctuality, performance, and compliance with school procedures. Provide training, coaching, and corrective direction to bus monitors as needed. Coordinate with transportation providers, bus drivers, school staff, families, and other stakeholders to address transportation needs and concerns. Monitor transportation schedules, routes, service issues, and changes that affect students and staff. Ensure transportation-related policies and procedures are communicated and followed. Assist with resolving transportation concerns in a timely and professional manner. Maintain appropriate transportation and bus-monitor records and documentation. Coordinate coverage when a bus monitor is absent or unavailable. Ensure appropriate supervision of students during transportation and promptly communicate transportation-related incidents or concerns to school administration. Participate in transportation safety planning, emergency procedures, and required drills as applicable. Front Office Operations Provide leadership and oversight of front office operations and secretary staff. Ensure the front office provides professional, welcoming, and responsive service to students, families, staff, and visitors. Establish and maintain efficient office procedures and systems. Oversee administrative processes related to student and family communication, attendance, records, visitors, and general office operations. Ensure confidentiality and appropriate handling of sensitive student and school information. Support effective communication between the front office, school administration, staff, students, and families. Ensure front office staff follow established procedures for maintaining accurate student records and entering required information into the SIS. Leadership & Administration Supervise, support, and evaluate assigned staff. Develop clear expectations and accountability systems for staff. Participate in school leadership meetings and contribute to school-wide planning and problem-solving. Maintain effective communication with the Chief School Administrator regarding student support, attendance, truancy, discipline, transportation, reporting, and operational matters. Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief School Administrator. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's Degree Preferred . Minimum of three (3) years of experience supervising staff or managing staff. Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, data-management, and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated ability to lead, supervise, and support employees effectively. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced school environment. Work in a school setting preferred.
