CLASSROOM SUBSTITUTE
Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED Experience with young children Bilingual Language abilities, English/Spanish, a plus
Responsibilities/Duties:
Work as a part of a team to assist in carrying out educational activities in the Head Start classroom setting. Partner with the education staff as a support in the classroom on an "as needed" basis. This position can be a replacement staff for an absence in the classroom. Staff provide and maintain an atmosphere in the classroom that promotes school readiness and developmentally appropriate practices for 3 and 4-year old children. Terms of Employment Conditions of Employment Luzerne County Head Start requires staff to possess current, valid Background Clearances (3) per state/federal regulations. Proof of education required to meet the qualifications for position. SEE Head Start Center locations at / https://lcheadstart.org/locations/ Hours & Salary School year position, working in an "as needed" basis for staff substitutions or additional classroom support. This position works during the school schedule August-June while Head Start classes are in session.
