Job Description
Job Overview We are looking for an experienced, reliable, and hands-on Maintenance Technician to join our motel team. The ideal candidate should have practical experience maintaining and repairing motel/hotel properties and be comfortable handling a variety of maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting tasks. We are especially interested in someone who has previous experience working in a motel, hotel, lodging property, apartment building, or similar facility and understands the importance of keeping guest rooms, common areas, equipment, and the property in good working condition. This is a hands-on position for someone who can identify problems, troubleshoot them, and complete repairs safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities The Maintenance Technician will be responsible for general maintenance and repairs throughout the motel, including but not limited to: Plumbing repairs and troubleshooting Repairing leaking faucets, toilets, sinks, pipes, and drains HVAC system maintenance and troubleshooting Air conditioning (AC) repair, maintenance, and troubleshooting Heating system maintenance and basic repairs Electrical troubleshooting and minor electrical repairs Replacing light fixtures, switches, outlets, bulbs, and other components as appropriate Repairing doors, locks, hinges, handles, and other hardware Drywall repairs and patching Painting and touch-up work Basic carpentry and general building repairs Repairing or replacing damaged furniture and fixtures Maintaining guest rooms and bathrooms Troubleshooting appliances and motel equipment Inspecting rooms and identifying maintenance issues Responding to maintenance requests and completing repairs promptly Preventive maintenance of property equipment and systems Maintaining exterior areas and addressing general property repairs Keeping maintenance tools and work areas organized Following appropriate safety procedures while performing repairs Helping keep the motel property safe, clean, functional, and well maintained Required Skills & Qualifications The ideal candidate should have: Previous hands-on maintenance experience Motel or hotel maintenance experience strongly preferred Good knowledge of plumbing Good knowledge of HVAC and air-conditioning systems Ability to troubleshoot and repair AC/heating problems General electrical knowledge General carpentry and construction/repair skills Ability to perform drywall, painting, and basic building repairs Ability to work independently and identify problems without constant supervision Good troubleshooting and problem-solving skills Ability to respond to maintenance issues in a timely manner Good attention to detail Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic Ability to communicate professionally with motel management and staff Ability to work safely and responsibly Experience We Prefer Candidates with experience working in any of the following environments are encouraged to apply: Motels Hotels Extended-stay properties Apartment buildings Resorts Commercial buildings Property maintenance Facilities maintenance Motel/hotel maintenance experience is highly preferred because the position involves maintaining guest rooms, bathrooms, HVAC/AC systems, plumbing, electrical components, and other property-related equipment.
