Spartanburg School District Seven Position Summary Performing day-to-day administrative duties Providing kitchen coverage as needed Assisting the Chef with promotions and catering events Supporting other catering and food service needs as necessary Administrative Support Provide general administrative and clerical support to the Food Service Director / Chef and department staff. Answer telephone calls, respond to emails, maintain accurate records, forms, schedules, invoices, purchase orders, and other department documentation. Enter and maintain data in food service, inventory, ordering, and financial systems. Prepare correspondence, reports, spreadsheets, menus, forms, and other documents as needed. Assist with scheduling meetings, deliveries, catering events, promotions and department activities. Maintain organized electronic and paper files in accordance with district procedures. Assist with processing invoices, receipts, and other financial documentation. Catering and Event Support Assist with planning and coordinating catering orders for school meetings, staff events, trainings, banquets, and other district functions. Prepare catering paperwork, production sheets, labels, invoices, and event checklists. Assist with food preparation, portioning, packaging, setup, serving, and cleanup as needed. Coordinate food and supply deliveries for catered events. Ensure catering areas and equipment are clean, organized, and ready for service. Monitor catering supplies and communicate replenishment needs to the appropriate supervisor. Required Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Previous administrative, customer service, food service, catering, or school food service experience preferred. Basic computer skills, including email, word processing, spreadsheets, and data entry. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to maintain accurate records and handle confidential information. Ability to organize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Ability to follow written and verbal instructions. Preferred Qualifications Experience working in a school, institutional food service, cafeteria, catering, or hospitality environment. Experience with food service ordering, inventory, point-of-sale, or nutrition management software. Knowledge of food safety and sanitation practices. Food handler or food safety certification, as required by applicable regulations. Physical Requirements Ability to stand and walk for extended periods. Ability to lift at least 35 lbs., carry, push, and pull food, supplies, boxes, and catering equipment within applicable safety limits. Ability to bend, reach, stoop, and perform repetitive tasks. Ability to work in both office and food preparation/service environments. Ability to work in environments with varying temperatures, including commercial kitchen and refrigerated areas. Working Conditions This position may work in an office, school cafeteria, kitchen and event locations. The employee may be required to work occasional early mornings, evenings, or special events depending on the needs of the school food service department.
