Full Job Description School Overview:
At East Point Academy, we believe it is important to raise global citizens who not only speak a second language, but also understand the culture that language was born from and embrace cultures from across the globe. Every student at East Point Academy learns Mandarin Chinese and is taught about life in China, customs, celebrations and history. A bilingual brain is more alert, quicker and better able to deal with complex issues and conflict resolution. Through Mandarin immersion cognitive skills related to language and other subjects are strongly improved.
Position Overview:
East Point Academy is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to assist in carrying out a vision of academic growth, community impact and personal excellence.
Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Behavior and Discipline Management:
Enforces the student code of conduct
Safety and Culture:
Creates a safe, respectful, and positive school environment, often including oversight of building security, crisis response plans, and lunchroom/bus supervision.
Communication:
with parents regarding behavior concerns, conducts conferences, and fosters positive home-school relationships. Support teachers with classroom management strategies. Maintain accurate records of disciplinary actions, referrals, and student behavior incidents. Complete classroom walk-throughs. Address performance concerns with clarity and professionalism. Observes teachers, conducts evaluations, provides feedback, and coordinates professional development to improve classroom practice. Maintain positive relationships with parents, communicate school policies, and address parental concerns regarding student progress.
Additional Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist in developing, implementing, and monitoring curriculum standards, assessments and data-driven instruction Coordinate school wide state testing. Commit to ongoing professional growth and collaboration. Create, implement, and maintain Behavior Improvement Plans to include incentives and consequences. Qualifications Masters degree in Educational Leadership or similar field (required). School leadership experience preferred Ability to build positive, supportive relationships with colleagues, students and families. Incentives
