Pay Range $114,700.00-$157,700.00 Annual This is the base salary pay range that an applicant can expect to make upon hire. Pay within this range will vary based upon relevant experience, skills, and education among other factors. In addition, this position is eligible for an incentive bonus. The Furnace Superintendent is responsible for overseeing two furnace production lines, including manufacturing operations, finished product quality, and raw material management within a 24/7 manufacturing environment in Etowah, TN. This role provides leadership for a unionized workforce, with responsibility for employee training, development, performance management, and labor relations while fostering a culture of safety, quality, and continuous improvement. The Superintendent is responsible for communicating and reinforcing objectives and facility goals related to safety, productivity, and product quality, as well as effectively troubleshooting operational and personnel issues, implementing corrective actions, and driving sustainable process improvements. Furnace Superintendent, the most important attributes for success in the role are: Leadership & People Management Proven supervisory and leadership experience managing a workforce of approximately 150 employees. Ability to train, develop, and motivate employees Experience managing hourly workforces Capability to conduct performance reviews, hiring, and disciplinary actions Ability to step into the Plant Manager role when needed Operational Excellence Deep manufacturing operations knowledge Ability to manage production, quality, and raw materials simultaneously Focus on productivity, cost control, and asset utilization Strong planning and scheduling capabilities Results-oriented execution of production goals Problem Solving & Decision Making Proven ability to diagnose and solve process issues Effective troubleshooting skills Ability to develop and implement corrective actions Strong analytical thinking using operational metrics and indicators Safety & Compliance Focus Strong commitment to safety leadership Ability to drive OSHA and incident reduction initiatives Understanding of environmental, regulatory, legal, and financial compliance requirements Creates accountability for safe work practices Continuous Improvement Demonstrated ability to lead change Comfortable working in a 24/7, 365-day operational environment Lean/continuous improvement mindset Ability to improve productivity, quality, and cost performance Data-driven approach to performance management Communication & Collaboration Strong interpersonal skills Effective verbal and written communication Ability to partner with plant leadership and cross-functional teams Ability to influence and align teams around corporate and plant goals Technical & Business Skills Bachelor's degree in management, engineering or relevant field with a minimum of 5 years operational leadership experience in a manufacturing environment. Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered. Knowledge of SAP or ERP systems Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools Understanding of budgeting, labor management, and material controls Union experience is preferred #
