Job Summary Supervises staff and oversees direct operation of the assigned school. Responsible for staff supervision, instructional and extra-curricular programs, budget, discipline, student safety, student/personnel data, public relations, technology systems, facilities, supplies and equipment, and reporting. Develops and implements programs within organizational policies; reports major activities to executive level administrators through conferences and reports. Attends or conducts staff, professional meetings to exchange information; attends professional classes, seminars, or conferences to improve professional skills. What you will do Supervises staff, including selecting or recommending selection, training, assigning, and evaluating work, counseling, disciplining, and terminating or recommending termination. Provides leadership to create an environment that fosters the love for learning, active student engagement, and consistent improvement in academic achievement. Provides leadership in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating instructional programs and activities. Provides leadership in planning, developing, implementing, and evaluating instructional programs; supervises school financial and business matters. Provides stewardship of the instructional program by facilitating, and/or actively leading the appropriate professional learning communities at the school while ensuring the effective implementation of required curriculum including National, State and Local Standards of Practice for areas of responsibility. Creates a culture of collaboration and shared accountability where people are valued, supported, and personally invested in professional growth. Ensures the creation of a safe and orderly environment by implementing policies approved by the Board of Education and district safety procedures and protocols; enforces policies and procedures for student discipline and protects students' rights; coordinates safety inspections and safety evacuation drills according to established laws and protocols. Gathers and maintains information/data to support periodic and special reports documenting activities for area of responsibility. Maintains record system for area of responsibility; process daily paperwork including reports, memos, requisitions, and personnel information. Supervises compilation of student data, including report cards, transcripts, and attendance. Utilizes effective communication skills to establish and maintain positive relationships with staff members, students, parents, and community. Attends or conducts staff, and other professional meetings to exchange information; attends professional classes, seminars, or conferences to improve professional skills. Serves as mentor to selected Principals in the district to support their growth and capacity as both instructional and school leaders. Education Qualifications Master's Degree from an accredited institution in related field Required Experience Qualifications 5 full years of certificated experience (inclusive of 2 years of leadership experience as an Assistant Principal or comparable experience leading adults - Central Office and other leadership considered) Required Skills and Abilities Flexibility to assist in multiple schools during the year in either an administrator or teaching role. Promotes a culture of quality and high performance by communicating expectations and procedures in a clear and concise manner. Provides adequate and timely information to staff, students, and parents regarding school operations and special circumstances. Demonstrates ability to establish positive relationships with all stakeholders by employing effective interpersonal communication skills. Demonstrates effective public speaking skills. Addresses complex and unusual situations in a calm, composed, and logical manner. Takes initiative, ingenuity, and creativity to address persisting or sudden problems hindering the effective operation of the school. Analyzes the impact and ramifications of decisions made. Effectively determines how decisions can affect units in the organization, citizens; student or staff safety, property damage and other legal liabilities.
