Commensurate with experience; in accordance with the Jefferson ISD salary schedule.Primary Purpose:
The Educational Diagnostician will be responsible for assessing the educational, learning, and developmental needs of students to support appropriate educational programming. This individual will collaborate with campus and district personnel and families, to determine student eligibility for special education services and to develop individualized education plans (IEPs) that promote student success.Qualifications:
Education/Certification:
? Valid Texas certification as an Educational Diagnostician ? Valid Texas certification as a teacher ? Special education teaching experience preferredExperience:
? Minimum of two years of successful teaching experience, preferably in special education ? Demonstrated experience in conducting comprehensive educational assessmentsResponsibilities:
? Conduct individual student assessments in accordance with federal, state, and local policies to determine special education eligibility. ? Prepare written evaluation reports and present findings to Admission, Review, and Dismissal (ARD) Committees. ? Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams in the development and review of Individualized Education Programs (IEPs). ? Provide consultation to teachers, administrators, and parents regarding instructional strategies, accommodations, and modifications to support student success. ? Maintain accurate and timely documentation of evaluation processes and outcomes. ? Participate in ARD meetings and contribute expertise regarding student needs and educational programming. ? Ensure compliance with IDEA and other applicable laws and regulations. ? Engage in ongoing professional development to remain current on best practices in assessment and special education.Application Procedures:
