Job Description
The Evaluator/Advisor is responsible for processing official and unofficial evaluations of nontraditional learning and degree plans, transfer credit articulations, providing academic advising, enrolling, and assisting students. Provides educational information and counseling to all eligible students on program requirements, admissions and withdrawal policies. Provides said services to students in CTC's north service area counties. Associate's degree from a nationally, regionally, or identified at the state level accredited institution of higher education required and four years full-time wage-earning experience in administrative support, customer service, or academic advising and student support Or Bachelor's Degree with two years full-time wage-earning experience administrative support, customer service, or academic advising and student support. Refer to experience required based on education level. Proficiency with Microsoft Office. Ability to interact effectively with the public, students, faculty and college personnel. Ability to proofread and verify reports with a high degree of accuracy. Ability to lead and work effectively within a team. Ability to organize and disseminate information. Ability to communicate effectively with students at a distance, using various Internet communication capabilities. Display strong analytical skills, excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to set priorities, meet deadlines and multitask. Demonstrated oral and written communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to work outside normal working hours when workload demands. Enrolls students in the college programs. Load classes, register students. Provides educational advisory assistance to students to include program requirements, admission/withdrawal policies, directions about times, dates and locations of classes, etc. Registers and tracks students for onsite and distance learning registrations. Maintains accurate student records, submits completed class documentation and assists in tracking incomplete student grades. Processes correspondence, reports, and other documentation as required. Distributes publicity media, flyers, schedule information, and program brochures. Presents and participates in community events such as education fairs. Process requests for changes in certificate and associate degree plans. Other duties as assigned by Site Director.
