Job Description
The Clerk III is directly responsible to the Office Assistant III/Registrar's Office. The overall duties and responsibilities of this position are to process transcript requests for students, generate permanent academic records in accordance with institutional and accrediting guidelines, provide general record keeping support services to students and staff, and perform routine clerical tasks. High school diploma or GED required. One year of college preferred Three years wage earning clerical experience OR certification relevant trade school (30 college credits ) and six months wage earning clerical experience required. A copy of certificates and/or college transcripts required with application for evaluation purposes. Ability to operate various office machines, including operating a scanner. Ability to scan into a document imaging system. Competency in Microsoft Office suite and have the ability to learn various software applications. Ability to enter data with high proficiency and accuracy. Good oral and written communication skills Must have patience and excellent customer service skills Must have good attention to detail and task oriented Knowledge of FERPA is helpful Knowledge of Ellucian Colleague Student Application, SPEEDE, Informer or the ability to quickly learn these applications. Ability to work standard CTC hours; be punctual and professional in the workplace. Processes transcripts in a timely manner Research historical education information for each transcript request. Answers phones and assists students with basic information concerning transcript requests. Assist with walk-in students for transcript requests and have a clear understanding of the process in order to give accurate information to the students Accurately enter historical student data into Ellucian Colleague system. Understand FERPA compliance and keep information confidential. Perform other duties as assigned.
