An Elementary and Secondary School Administrator supervises teachers, counselors, librarians and other school staff, manages a school budget and finances, provides instructional leadership and monitors progress toward local, state and federal educational standards. Directs student discipline and works with parents and community partners. May work in other school district administrative or professional positions such as school district superintendent.
Montessori School in Sugar Land is actively seeking qualified and experienced candidates for the School Administrator/School Closer .
MUST HAVE WORKED AT THE FRONT DESK AT A PRESCHOOL.
This position requires availability to work in the late afternoon/early evening until 6:30pm Monday through Friday. Please only apply if you are able to work until 1:30 - 6:30 PM. You will have the opportunity to contribute to the development of our Montessori program and support the learning environment's curriculum, daily schedule and materials. While contributing to our team family, you will be provided with opportunities to further your training, collaborate with teachers and contribute toward our goal of teaching, caring for and keeping safe each child under our care.
Responsibilities:
Lead the afternoon program Organize Marketing Packets and Enrollment Packets Making copies along with other administrative duties Monitor and check that head count rounds are done correctly and filed Answer phone calls throughout the day Ensure lobby, break room and all public areas remain neat, clean and organized Must be able to work late and close the school 5 days a week (6:30pm closing) Keeping daily attendance, health and safety records Step into classrooms roles to assist teachers as needed Provide lunch breaks to teaching staff as needed Assist with the passing out of snacks and lunches in accordance with program guidelines Must be reliable, trustworthy, able to multi-task and are flexible to changing priorities Independent and willing to take initiative while understanding all staff is part of a family team Other duties as assigned Qualifications Knowledgeable in traditional early childhood education methods Minimum High School Diploma; good work experience a plus At least 1-2 years combined administrative experience preferred Familiarity with safety and sanitation guidelines for classrooms as well as all State Licensing Minimum Standards Excellent communication and instructional skills when dealing with staff Certification in child CPR; will be provided if not already obtained Good oral and written communication skills Ability to work needed hours Strong technology experience especially with Office 360 Suite, administrative computer programs and customer relations management
Physical Demands:
Regularly required to safely pick and hold children ages 6 weeks to 6 years, sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer, hand-held learning devices and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds.
