Job Description

Student Services Associate Job Summary Under the direction of the Student Services Lead the Student Services Associate performs specialized clerical and technical duties to register students and maintain student records. The Student Services Associate is the first contact students have with Maritime Institute; therefore, a professional and positive company image must be presented at all times. Who We Are Maritime Institute is a state-of-the-art vocational training center established for individuals who seek to enter the maritime profession, as well as mariners seeking to advance their careers. We are dedicated to providing outstanding training to civilian and military mariners from around the globe. Our expert staff of highly regarded, seasoned instructors provide a combination of unequaled teaching techniques with cutting-edge technology such as "hands-on" equipment systems maintenance and interactive simulations.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide assistance and information to students regarding registration 2. Instruct students in correct procedures for completion of forms and review completed forms for accuracy and completeness 3. Update and verify student records and generate reports 4. Collect tuition payments and other money and reconcile cash receipts 5. Provide information and assistance to faculty and other staff members 6. Answer telephones 7. Filing 8. Sell student supplies and apparel 9. Perform other related duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Required :
  • High School Diploma
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational and planning skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite
  • Prior administrative or customer service experience
Preferred :
- Previous Supervisory or Office Manager experience
  • An Associate's degree with at least four (3) years of closely related work experience, or military experience in a related area.
  • Familiarization with Microsoft Teams

Full-time Pay:
$21.00 - $24.00 per hour
