This role is an important part of creating a safe, nurturing, and engaging environment where students feel supported, valued, and cared for throughout their day. What You'll Do Supervise Kindergarten - Fourth Grade students during lunch and After Care to ensure a safe, respectful, and welcoming environment. Support students with mealtime routines, including seating, opening food items, snack preparation, and cleanup. Encourage positive behavior and help students develop independence and responsibility. Assist with lunchroom organization, including table setup, cleaning, and maintaining a sanitary environment. Provide supervision and enrichment during After Care, including activities, games, creative projects, and outdoor play. Support smooth transitions, classroom routines, and end-of-day procedures. Communicate with teachers and administrators regarding student needs and observations. Help create a positive environment where students feel cared for and encouraged. Qualifications Must be 18 years of age or older. High school diploma or equivalent required. A minimum of two years' experience working with children in a school, childcare, camp, or similar setting preferred. Patient, dependable, and enthusiastic approach to working with students. Strong communication and teamwork skills. Ability to positively engage and supervise groups of children. Ability to stand, walk, and lift light items throughout the day. Ability to meet Washington State licensing and background check requirements Food Handler's Permit required.
