Master's Degree in Educational Leadership Five years teaching experience (preferred) Ability to communicate and work effectively with others Such other qualifications as the Board of Education and/or District Administrator may find appropriate Must possess and maintain or be eligible to obtain a current Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction Principal License. Must possess and maintain or be eligible to obtain a current Wisconsin Department of Public Instruction License to teach at the secondary level. Valid driver's license required. Shall complete a physical examination as required by Wisconsin Statute.
Abilities, Skills, and Knowledge Desired:
As an instructional leader, the Associate Principal will assist in the overall administration of the policies and day-to-day operations of the high school academic, co-curricular, and extra-curricular programs within the Hortonville Area School District. The Associate Principal supports the development of instructional programs and services that serve all students well.
She/he will do this by:
Supporting creation of a safe, orderly, inviting place to teach and learn; Working effectively with all individual and groups; Managing school time, facilities, and resources responsibly; Supervision teachers and support staff (as assigned by the principal); Leading a student services program that assists students in making educational, career, and life plans
Responsibilities:
Program Supervision Knows assigned area of district and school curriculum; ensures teaching of the written curriculum, and assists staff in use of curriculum resources as requested. Direct and support a tiered intervention program for students (RtI and SEL). Oversees programs for children at risk, alcohol and other drug abuse programs, gifted and talented, guidance and counseling services. Monitoring Student Progress Continually emphasizes student learning as the primary outcome of schooling. Assist in systematically assessing and monitoring student progress using data. Monitors assigned aspects of IEP-Team as LEA (Local Educational Agency). Directs and implements a student intervention team process for students including the identification, follow-up, and referral of students with problems which affect learning. Establishing an Effective Learning Environment Protects instructional time by minimizing interruptions to the teaching/learning process. Interacts positively with students to encourage each to perform at the highest level. Maintains high visibility throughout the school. Works collaboratively with HHS administrators to develop the student handbook. Facilitate 9 th grade advisory and advisement programming. Facilitate the Sources of Strength Team. Decision Making & Problem Solving Makes decisions in a timely fashion, appropriately involving others, and maximizes effectiveness by follow-up actions. Clearly communicates decision-making processes and final decisions with rational to all affected. Uses appropriate research, accurate information, and best practices in the decision-making process. Communications & Community Relations Keeps parents, district office, the media, and the community informed about school activities. Encourages parent involvement. Staff Supervision & Personnel Evaluation Implements systematic personnel evaluation through the teacher effectiveness model. Coaches employees to ensure effectiveness and professional growth. Coaches and appropriately responds to performance concerns and recommends remediation and/or removal of unsatisfactory personnel. Student & Staff Relations Good communication skills

Provides regular recognition for positive efforts of students and teachers. Communicates high expectations for both staff and students and provides appropriate modeling and motivation. Building Management, Record Keeping, and Budget Management Establishes and maintains rules and procedures for student and staff safety. Maintains accurate personnel, student, inventory, fiscal, and other records, as assigned. Prepares assigned budgets accurately and effectively monitors expenditures.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
This is a supervisory position as assigned in accordance with the district's policies and applicable laws. Performance Responsibilities Will support the high school administration by creating a safe and orderly environment at Hortonville High School Will develop rapport with students, parents, and staff Will oversee student discipline (9-12) following building guidelines including SEL Responsible for documentation following the expulsion process Understands and follows the county and municipal ordinance procedure and adheres to the process for attendance and truancy Oversees student 9-12 attendance (including tardy and truancy) following the building guidelines and Board policy Monitors student attendance and logistics for Extended Learning Time Communicates appropriate student expectations Administrative representative on the Student Intervention Team for attendance and behaviors Facilitates SEL Building Team Oversees and coordinates state testing Coordinates the Alternative Education Program LEA attendance at IEP meetings as assigned by the administration Attendance at 504 meetings as assigned by the administration Provide research to the administration on the latest trends related to discipline and attendance Provide recommendations to high school administration using the discipline/attendance data on supports and interventions Develop K-8 summer school curriculum guide Create K-8 summer school master schedule Facilitate K-8 summer school registration Staff K-8 summer school program Coordinate K-8 summer school budget Complete DPI required summer school report
Other Duties:
Coordinates and facilitates Student Intervention Team Process Supervises and evaluates staff as assigned by Principal Oversee departments as assigned Works in conjunction with principal to develop master schedule Assists with personnel issues Assists with staffing and hiring Oversees Advanced Placement testing Facilitates Literacy Task Force Facilitates Tier 1 Strategies Team Oversees the high school graduation test (citizenship test) and Forward Exam Facilitates the Sources of Strength program and Link Crew programing Oversees the expulsion process at the high school Directs summer school which includes staff training, counselor oversight, and daily operations Collaboratively with the HHS Principal and District SRO lead district safety team and district safety implementation responsibilities. Any other duties as assigned
Performance Evaluation:
Performance of this position will be evaluated by the District of Human Resources using the SAPES (School Administrator Performance Education System)
Employment:
