This position is full-time, 40 hours per week, on-site at Herzing'shome office in downtown Milwaukee with flexible hours between 8AM and 5PM with one day until 7PM (some evening/weekend flexibility based onstudent needs or occasional events/activities). Following the completion of training, there will be the option for a hybrid workschedule with a mix of remote days and in-office days. EXPERIENCEREQUIREMENTS
Bachelor's Degree required. Master's degree in higher education, counseling or related field ispreferred. 1-3 years of advising, counseling, or related experience, 3-5 years of experience is preferred. Proven experienceproviding exceptional customer service in an education or service-oriented environment, addressing student inquiries and needseffectively. Proficiency in advising, course selection, and academic planning, along with the ability to provide guidance onresources for student success. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, enabling clear and empathetic communication withstudents, faculty, and staff. Strong problem-solving skills, including the ability to assist students in resolving academic andpersonal challenges by connecting them with appropriate resources and support services. Compensation isdetermined based on the qualifications, experience, and circumstances of each hire. It is uncommon for new employees to start near the topof the salary range. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including a tuition waiver and reimbursement program, health insurance, paidtime off, and a retirement savings plan. The hourly rate for this position is between $23.76 and $32.14.
PRIMARY DUTIES ANDRESPONSIBILITIES
Advise students including but not limited to: academic issues, including program and courseofferings; having out of classroom issues that are impacting academic success, discuss options and pros/cons of options; provide guidance toassist students with decision-making. Answer student questions and resolve basic issues related to bookstore validation and eBookuse. Complete and maintain student scheduling and course revisions per University standards. Having gained a comprehensiveunderstanding of the registration process and program pre-requisites, provide guidance to students on scheduling changes and process thosechanges in the system. Work in collaboration with faculty/staff/administration to assist students who are experiencing personal oracademic concerns to find appropriate solutions. Organize and coordinate student focused events each semester. Communicateto students regarding semester/term start preparation. Communicate with new incoming students through welcome calls to discussschedule and potential obstacles to provide resources and/or solutions. Enter updates into University platforms on all engagementand communication with students. Prepare materials for and conduct new student orientations on how to access & navigate Universityplatforms and bookstore validation. Inform students of resources and contact information for the Tutoring and Writing Center andLibrary. Communicate and negotiate with inter- and intra- department personnel to resolve student issues. This position maytake on additional administration duties as needed to support the campus.
