Waukesha West High School is seeking a Part-Time Student Services Assistant Secretary to help ensure the successful operation of the Student Service and Guidance Departments within the school. They will assist both teams in the clerical operation of those departments and the multitude of duties assigned to them. This person will act as a liaison between the departments, students, families, and staff to help guide the school towards its mission of Learning, Growing, Succeeding - Every Person, Every Day.

may include but are not limited to: Performing general office duties Organizing and maintaining accurate filing systems Posting and processing scholarship materials and scholarship booklets Planning Senior Honors night Assisting families with transcript requests, enrollments and transfers Coordinating college visits Setting up ACT and other achievement testing Organizing graduation ceremonies, booklets, and letters Other Duties as assigned Regular attendance is an essential function of this position. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
High school or equivalent education Successful experience in similar positions
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Strong interpersonal skills with ability to empathize and find common ground for the good of the organization. Effective written and verbal communication skills. Evidence of outstanding organizational abilities; ability to handle multiple responsibilities. Ability to work as a successful team member with co-workers. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and Google Docs; ability to effectively learn and work with school-centered software (relational database) applications. Should have a history of confidentiality, stability, neatness, punctuality, loyalty, ethical consciousness, organization skills, and flexibility.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents, federal, state, and/or DPI regulations, handbooks, computer and other manuals, budget reports and statistical data. Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals. Ability to interpret and communicate reports, procedures, and computer applications to faculty, staff, and students. Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Ability to statistically manipulate numbers; make advanced mathematical calculations; check for accuracy.
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to exercise good judgment and effectively solve problems. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions with several abstract and concrete variables.
