The Islamic Academy of Huntsville (IAH) is seeking dedicated Elementary School Teachers for the 2026-27 school year. At IAH, we believe teachers do their best work when they have the time, support, and resources to know their students well and create meaningful learning experiences. Our elementary program offers small class sizes, weekly one-on-one teacher coaching, dedicated planning time, and a schedule designed to support effective teaching and teacher well-being. The school day runs from 7:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday through Thursday, and 7:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Fridays. Qualifications :
Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education or related field. State teaching certification. Previous teaching experience is highly valued. Strong understanding of child development and instructional strategies. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to engage with students, parents, and colleagues. Ability to adapt teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning needs. Strong organizational and time management skills to effectively handle multiple tasks. Passion for working with young learners and fostering their creativity and curiosity. Responsibilities Design and deliver lesson plans aligned with curriculum standards in subjects such as literacy education, math, science, and social studies. Incorporate learning technology and library services to enhance student engagement and understanding. Manage classroom behavior effectively through behavior management techniques and classroom management strategies. Assess student progress through standardized testing, formative assessments, informal observations and adjust instruction accordingly. Provide tutoring and additional support to students who need extra help. Maintain accurate records of student performance, attendance, and behavioral reports while ensuring compliance with school policies. Communicate regularly with parents or guardians regarding student progress, behavioral concerns, and upcoming events. Participate in school meetings, staff development sessions, and curriculum planning activities to continually improve teaching practices.
