JOB OVERVIEW
The teacher will be responsible for creating a positive instructional climate where the teacher and students incorporate the six pillars of character through the Character Counts program to promote optimal learning. The teacher will infuse the discipline program to enhance positive classroom management that displays care, respect and trust of one another. The teacher will embrace the school's philosophy of Mastery Learning, through a blended learning model, and be aware that every child is unique in the rate and style of learning. The teacher will provide additional time on task and/or differentiated instruction to allow all students to reach their full academic potential; show evidence high expectations of all students' achievement and accomplishment and ultimately, the academic and social achievement of students; the teacher will assess and document student progress; complete associated paperwork such as attendance records, course syllabi, competency requirements, criteria to be used for grades, and individual student coursework grades and necessary data (ELL, SPED, intervention plan).
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES OF POSITION
Creates an inviting classroom to stimulate learning and engage the students through a blended learning model Implements Arizona Online Instruction (AOI) instructional component into place-based classroom instruction Provides appropriate classroom instruction for subject and grade level taught Consistently enforces all school rules Demonstrates interest in and caring for all students Empowers students and involves them in appropriate school decisions Responsible for timely, neat, accurate, and complete records Responsible for the care and inventory of textbooks and supplies Immediately creates and implements an intervention plan for students demonstrating academic and/or behavioral challenges Works with students to assist with timely progress in coursework Provides immediate and positive feedback to students on educational and behavioral accomplishments Attends student meetings, parent conferences, Open Houses, scheduled faculty meetings, and planning days Maintains a flexible teaching approach that accommodates differentiated instruction, learning rates, interests, styles of learning, and removes unnecessary barriers to innovation and learning Provides each student with a course syllabi, competency requirements, goal sheets, and criteria to be used for grading Carries out duties as stated in the governing board policies and/or relevant state statutes Carries out responsibilities as assigned by the principal Performs other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's degree in field of study or related field Arizona state fingerprint clearance card (with IVP number) Highly Qualified Status (preferred) Valid Arizona state Teaching Certificate Passing score on AEPA or other approved assessment in content area
MINIMUM EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
Student teacher, previous teaching experience preferred Experience in field of study or related field preferred
