The ideal candidate would have teaching experience with 9-12 year olds (4th, 5th and 6th grade) as well as have a deep understanding and respect for the child at this stage of development. It is important for this individual to be confident communicating and partnering with families to support their child. At VMS, we value a collaborative and professional environment with families as well as with colleagues. Key Responsibilities Support in preparing a classroom environment that is orderly, clean and appealing and permits the student to grow and explore. Support the current teachers in planning weekly lesson plans based on a curriculum outline. Establish and maintain effective communication with parents through parent conferences, online correspondence, and during informal conversations. Keep detailed records of observations and progress of each student and prepare progress reports for each child as required.
